1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick), softened
1 cup granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 can Hershey’s chocolate syrup (16 oz.)
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
Pre-heat oven to 350º F. Grease a 13 X 9 X 2-inch baking pan. Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add syrup, eggs, vanilla, and flour; beat well. Stir in nuts if desired. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 30-35 minutes or until knife or wooden pick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool completely. Frost and cut into squares to serve.
To frost, melt a 12 oz. package of real milk chocolate chips in the microwave oven on medium high heat for approximately 2-3 minutes. Must be real chips or they won’t melt properly. Or use your favorite chocolate or white frosting.
