Governor Heineman signed the proclamation proclaiming June Is Turkey Lovers' Month in Nebraska on May 18, 2006, during an industry-sponsored luncheon at the Governor's Residence in Lincoln for the Governor, state senators, representatives of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, and turkey producers.

In recognition of the Governor's support for the Nebraska turkey industry, Jerry Felber (left), Seward Turkey Enterprises, and President of the Nebraska Turkey Federation, presented Governor Dave Heineman (right) with a Norbest Turkey, and a Norbest Hickory Smoked Turkey. Felber also presented the Governor with two turkey cookbooks.

Governor Heineman issued a proclamation proclaiming June Is Turkey Lovers' Month in Nebraska on May 18, 2006, during an industry-sponsored luncheon at the Governor's Residence in Lincoln for state senators, representatives of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, and turkey producers. In 2005, more than 3.3 million turkeys were produced in Nebraska, with cash receipts from turkey totaling more than $40 million.
